On April 17-26, 2024, the Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Elena PRESNYAKOVA, took part in a Seminar on the Digital Economy of China for Belarus, Qingdao (People’s Republic of China)

On April 17-26, 2024, a Seminar on the Digital Economy of China for Belarus was held at the Shandong Vocational and Technical College of Foreign Trade in Qingdao, Shandong Province (People’s Republic of China).

The participants included representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Communications and Information, the Ministry of Industry, the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy, the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Production Association “Belorusneft”, the State Institution “Administration of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone”. The Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus was represented by the Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy Elena PRESNYAKOVA.

During the training, lectures were given on the topics: “Overview of the national situation in China”, “Chinese culture and the development of trade on the Silk Road”, “State and trends in the development of the global digital economy”, “Creating rules and promoting applications in the digital economy and trade of China”, “Big Data in Business Operations”, “Ways for the Development of Smart Digital Economy and Innovation”, “Operation Models of Cross-Border E-Commerce and Trends in the Context of the Digital Economy”.

During the seminar, the experience of the PRC in the field of digital economy was studied, the current situation and trends in the development of the digital economy in the world were considered. The prospects for the use of artificial intelligence technologies in various industries, the use of big data in economic forecasting and decision making are considered, innovations and models of cross-border e-commerce are presented.

In Qingdao, on April 19, 2024, a study trip took place to the exhibition pavilion of Haier, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of household appliances, computer equipment, industrial automation equipment, industrial robotics, and medical equipment.

On April 21-23, 2024, the seminar participants visited Wuhan, where they studied the activities of the Hubei Yangzhong Zhushi Information Technology Center; as well as the Donghu New Technology Development Zone.

During a visit to the language translation service provider Transn, an instance of an artificial intelligence model based on the GPT Series 4 language model was demonstrated.

On April 26, 2024, guests from Belarus got acquainted with the work of the high-tech container terminal of the Qingdao port QQCTN, controlled in a fully automated way.

During the final review of the participation of Belarusian representatives in the seminar events, Elena PRESNYAKOVA made a report on familiarization with traditional Chinese culture.

At the end, the Deputy Director of the Shandong Vocational and Technical College of Foreign Trade in a solemn ceremony presented certificates to representatives from Belarus.
