On June 6, 2024, the Head of the Sector of Environmental and Economic Research, Nadezhda BATOVA, spoke at the International Conference “Strengthening the potential of the Republic of Belarus to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals”

Nadezhda BATOVA, Head of the Sector of Environmental and Economic Research at the Center of Human Development and Demography, made a presentation on the topic “Green economy as a new type of economic development” within the framework of section No. 2 “Sustainable development in the context of climate change” at the International Conference and B2B session “Strengthening the potential of the Republic Belarus to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: strategies and partnerships in the context of modern challenges and the climate agenda”.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus with the participation of Belarusian government bodies, the representative office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Belarus and the Industrial Park Development Company.

The event took place in the Great Stone industrial park and aroused great interest. The conference was attended by more than 100 people, including invited leaders of the Eurasian Economic Commission, experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), UNDP, representatives of the Hong Kong International Trade Federation, a number of environmental organizations from the CIS countries and China, the diplomatic corps, business and scientific circles of Belarus and foreign countries.

At the opening of the conference, speeches were made by the Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Legislation and State Building Mikhail RUSY, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuri AMBRAZEVICH, Head of Administration of the Great Stone Industrial Park Alexander YAROSHENKO, UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus Rasul BAGIROV.
