On June 18-19, 2024, employees of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus took part in the III International Research-to-Practice Conference
On June 18-19, 2024, the III International Research-to-Practice Conference “Social Aspects of Regional Development in the Conditions of Great Challenges”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was held at the Institute for Regional Economic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.
The Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus is one of the co-organizers of this conference.
The plenary session on June 19, 2024 was opened by the Director of the Institute for Regional Economic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexey SHMATKO.
The Scientific Director of the Institute for Regional Economic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir OKREPILOV and the President of the Regional Association of Employers “Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Leningrad Region”, Professor Alexander GABITOV, addressed the participants of the Conference with a welcoming speech.
During the plenary session, a discussion took place on current issues of socio-economic development of regions, including issues of innovative development of regions, spatial development of agglomerations, development of the transport and logistics complex at the regional level, development of agricultural business, etc.
On the second day of the conference, June 19, 2024, 3 sections took place.
At the section 2 “Strategic priorities of spatial development of the economy of regions and municipalities”, Oleg KOLEDA, a senior researcher at the Sector of International Competitiveness and Regional Development, made a report remotely on the topic “Economic corridors as a modern form of interstate economic integration and spatial development”.
The reports of the section participants concerned the solution of pressing socio-economic problems at the regional level, including: the development of regional commodity markets, the elaboration of regional spatial development strategies, digitalization of regions, the development of the transport and logistics complex, etc.
