Nadezhda BATOVA, Head of the Sector of Environmental and Economic Research at the Center for Human Development and Demography, made a presentation on the topic “Circular Economy as a Driver of Inclusive Sustainable Growth” as part of the panel discussion “Green Transition to Inclusive and Sustainable Growth”.
The following issues were discussed during the Forum:
- the effectiveness of the national architecture for managing the process of achieving the SDGs;
- assessment of progress in achieving the SDGs in the Republic of Belarus;
- preparation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Belarus for the period until 2040, taking into account the 2030 Agenda and state programs for the new five-year cycle;
- localization of SDGs;
- involving youth and the general public in the process of achieving the SDGs;
- interaction with business and international partners in the field of achieving the SDGs.
The conference was organized by the National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus with the participation of the Council for Sustainable Development.
The event aroused great interest. About 400 people took part in the Forum: representatives of government bodies, parliament, public associations, business and academic circles, and international organizations.
The recommendations developed within the Forum will be used in the work of the Council for Sustainable Development, and will also be taken into account in government programs for the period 2026-2030.
