On June 27, 2024, employees of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy took part in a joint event of the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Russia within the framework of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

As part of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, on June 27, 2024, a joint event of the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Russia was held in Vitebsk on the topic: “Unlocking the potential of innovative cooperation between Russia and Belarus - a vector of technological development and growth.” The event was held on the basis of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, brought together more than 80 participants - representatives of chambers of commerce and industry and business of Belarus and 12 regions of Russia.

The event was moderated by the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail MYATLIKOV and the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir PADALKO. The Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus was represented at the event by the head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy Elena PRESNYAKOVA and the head of the Sector of Scientific, Technological and Innovative Development Alexey SITKEVICH.

The event became a platform for consideration of current issues of interaction between businesses of the two countries and exchange of experience. During the presentations, the speakers highlighted the experience and ways of interaction between infrastructural elements of supporting innovative entrepreneurship within the Union State, promising areas of partnership between Belarusian and Russian entrepreneurs in the innovation sphere for the digitalization of the urban environment, effective payment mechanisms without dependence on international systems, the potential for cooperation of small and medium-sized businesses, production enterprises of the two countries, innovative approaches and tools used by regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia.

During the networking, employees of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy discussed in more detail the possibilities of carrying out transactions in the electronic payment system “Oplati” with the director of LVO LLC Oleg KONDRATENKO.

In terms of strengthening interaction with regional partners and the possibility of providing business services in demand by domestic organizations, Elena PRESNYAKOVA discussed the prospects for cooperation with the General Director of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Vitebsk Region, Natalya VOROBYEVA, and the General Director of the Astrakhan company Grand Fish LLC, Raisa BERESTEN.

In order to identify the potential and develop recommendations for increasing the contribution of science and technology parks to the scientific, technological and innovation sphere, Alexey SITKEVICH discussed the issues of creating favorable conditions for doing business in the high-tech sector with the director of Minsk City Technopark LLC Vladimir DAVIDOVICH.
