On July 4, 2024, the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus organized a round table "Belarusian Economic School: Role in Modern Economic Science and Development Prospects" as part of the Economic Week. The event was held at the Bureau of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus. The round table was moderated by Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

A welcoming speech was given by Vladimir GUSAKOV, Chairman of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, who emphasized the importance of the interdisciplinary research cluster "Belarusian Economic School" for solving current theoretical, methodological and practical problems in the field of socio-economic development.

Vladimir GUSAKOV noted in his speech "...Today, almost each scientific development requires economic justification, and each scientific research should be aimed at solving a significant national economic problem. Due to the fact that the republic has preserved its scientific and innovative infrastructure and, first of all, the National Academy of Sciences, there is an opportunity to rely on our own research, analyze international experience, develop an independent scientifically grounded position, and conduct a national economic policy in accordance with the interests of Belarusian society".

Representatives of NAS of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research, the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, the Research Institute of Labor of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, and educational institutions took part in the round table.

As part of the round table, Denis MUKHA presented the participants with the album "Belarusian Economic School: 2015-2024", which contains the creation history and structure of the interdisciplinary research cluster, the main areas of activity of the Belarusian Economic School, the publication activity of the cluster’s main representatives, participation in scientific and practical events, educational activities, international cooperation, etc.

Sergei SOLODOVNIKOV made a report "Qualitative renewal of economic education in the Republic of Belarus and the interdisciplinary research cluster "Belarusian Economic School".

Valery BAINEV delivered a report "The Institute of Ideology as a Factor in Socio-Economic Development".

After summing up the results, the participants of the round table exchanged views and agreed to continue further fruitful cooperation within the framework of the interdisciplinary research cluster "Belarusian Economic School".
