On July 16, the final of the II internal competition "Youth – to the Belarusian Economy" was held at the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus

On July 16, 2024, the final of the II internal competition " Youth – to the Belarusian Economy " (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) was held at the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the Institute). The competition is held with the aim of activating research activities among young people, as well as developing scientific thinking and knowledge exchange, encouraging collaboration and cooperation between young scientists.

In 2024, the competition was held in 2 nominations:

  • Research project;
  • Scientific essay.

In the first nomination, research teams (2-5 people) were allowed to participate in the competition. A research team had to submit a research project - a plan for upcoming scientific research on a specific topic, developed by a research team based on the existing scientific background in order to determine key areas for fundamental scientific research aimed at obtaining new knowledge and results, testing scientific hypotheses, theories, approaches to solving problems or applying new knowledge to achieve practical goals.

In the second nomination, the author or team of authors had to submit a scientific work of 30,000-40,0000 printed characters. Recommended research areas are the following: improving the system of patriotic education and promoting peaceful initiatives of citizens, strengthening interfaith dialogue and harmony in Belarusian society, demonstrating the advantages of the Belarusian economic model in the context of global turbulence, positioning creative work as one of the main conditions for the Belarusian state development; other areas of economic topics that offer reasoned solutions to current problems.

The Director of the Institute Denis MUKHA addressed the participants of the competition with a welcoming speech, in which he noted the importance of the event for the development of the scientific career of young scientists in the Institute, and also noted the high level of works that were submitted to the Competition.

The participants of the Competition presented their research projects in the form of reports.

The commission preliminarily assessed the scientific essays according to the evaluation criteria of the competition regulations. The places were distributed as follows:

The 1st degree diploma was awarded to the scientific essay "Development of digital trade in the Republic of Belarus: from challenges to strategy" by researcher of the Department of Monitoring of Socio-Economic Development Anna AKSENEVICH.

The 2nd degree diploma was awarded to the work "Motivation as a key element of corporate culture: experience of implementing the VHI program and its impact on the success of the enterprise" by junior researcher of the Department of Service Economy Anastasia KARPENKO.

The scientific essay "The impact of pension provision on the quality of life of the population" by researcher at the Center of Human Development and Demography Marina LEBEDEVICH was awarded the 3rd degree diploma.

The best research projects were recommended by an authoritative jury for submission to competitions of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research, and the best essays were recommended for participation in a competition dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, which is held by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
