On September 20, 2024 the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus hosted a round table dedicated to the Day of National Unity and the Day of Peace

On September 20, 2024 at the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus a round table dedicated to the Day of National Unity and the Day of Peace was held. The representatives of the Institute of History of NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Philosophy of NAS of Belarus, the district organisation of the Regional Public Association “Belaya Rus” took part in this event. It was organised by the Centre of State Building and Law and the trade union of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus.

Director of the Institute of Economics Denis MUKHA addressed a welcoming speech to the participants of the round table.

The Leading Researcher of the Institute of History of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Valentin MAZETS devoted his report to the victory of historical justice (to the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus and the BSSR).

The importance of the people’s unity in the situation of geopolitical confrontation was highlighted in the speech by Petr PETROVSKY, Researcher of the Institute of Philosophy of NAS of Belarus, expert of the RPA “Belaya Rus”. A number of questions he raised provoked a lively discussion.

The position on the Day of National Unity as a way to resist the cultural expansion of the West was expressed by Evgeny NESTEROVICH, press secretary of the Lenin district organisation of the RPA “Belaya Rus” in Minsk.

Antonina TRIPUZOVA, Head of the sector, made a report on the topic “Peace on the Planet - Happy Children”, telling about the history of the institution, the symbol of the International Day of Peace (21 September), about “children’s diplomacy”, children-peacemakers: “Peace Doves” - Samantha Smith and Katya Lycheva.

During the event, Chairperson of the Trade Union Committee Albina SIBIRSKAYA summarised the results of the children’s drawing competition “WE ARE ORDERED TO PROTECT PEACE”. Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute, congratulated the winners and presented gifts. The works of children of the Institute’s employees and their sincere emotions left no one indifferent, creating a special festive atmosphere.

The round table was attended by representatives of all structural units of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, including young scientists. The event ended with a sweet buffet with the children-participants of the competition and their parents.
