On November 15, 2024, Section 3 “State and Prospects of the Services Sector Development” was held within the framework of the conference “Strategy of Economic Development of Belarus: Challenges, Instruments and Prospects”
The main purpose of the section was to discuss topical issues related to the impact of digitalisation processes on the service sector, problems and prospects for the development of various industries from the social sphere to transport and logistics in serving the population. The participants had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with a number of presented research papers, which became the basis for an active discussion.
The moderator was Natalia MOROZOVA, Head of the Department of Service Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Vitaly PILUI, Deputy Director for Research and Innovation, Candidate of Economic Sciences, made a welcoming speech.
Representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences took part in the work of the section:
Alexander SHIROV, Director of the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor;
Sergey MILYAKIN, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Researcher of the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The event brought together scientists, practitioners and specialists from various spheres of economy to discuss the issues of economic growth and development in the context of transformation of global markets, trade aspect, logistics component, tourism, internal audit and education, taking into account the international experience and current trends in digitalisation.
The work of the section contributed to the identification of problems in the service sector and the elaboration of proposals for the development of the transport system, tourism business, trade and other social aspects.
