On November 15, 2024, the work of the Section 5 “Foreign economic policy in the aspect of ensuring national security” within the framework of the conference “Strategy of Economic Development of Belarus: Challenges, Instruments and Prospects”
On November 15, 2024, within the framework of the International Research-to-Practice Conference “Strategy of Economic Development of Belarus: Challenges, Instruments and Prospects” a session of Section 5 “Foreign economic policy in the aspect of ensuring national security” was held.
The session was organised by the Centre of World Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus.
Representatives of research and higher educational institutions from different countries, including: representatives of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Smolensk), the People’s Republic of China (Qingdao), the Republic of Belarus (Minsk) took part in the work of the sectional meeting.
The moderator - Tatyana VERTINSKAYA, Head of the Centre of World Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor - made a welcoming speech to the participants of the section.
In the course of the session the following scientists were heard:
Anton KUZAVKO, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor (Smolensk State University, Smolensk) with a report on “Foreign economic co-operation of Russian-Belarusian border regions in the conditions of interstate integration”;
Dmitry POLZIKOV, Candidate of Economic Sciences (Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow) on the topic “Integration interaction within the Union State as a factor of economic security of the Republic of Belarus”;
Galina SHMARLOVSKAYA, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor (Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk) on the topic “The Republic of Belarus in the conditions of international network economy: directions and forms of interaction”;
Binbin WAN (Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, St. Petersburg) on the topic “China’s Integration into the Global Value Chain in Modern Conditions”;
Galina TURBAN, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor (Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk) on the topic “Inflow of Foreign Direct Investments into the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Countries”;
Sergei KOTSKO (Institute of Economics, NAS of Belarus, Minsk) on the topic “International Organisations’ Initiatives in the Field of Trade Facilitation in the Context of Trends in the Development of the Multilateral Trading System”;
Yulia YAKUBUK, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor (Institute of Economics, NAS of Belarus, Minsk) on the topic “World experience in creating digital transport and logistics platforms”;
Anna VASHCHILO (Institute of Business of the Belarusian State University, Minsk) on the topic “Foreign experience in the development of export of transport and logistics services in the aspect of ensuring national security”;
Oleg KOLEDA (Institute of Economics, NAS of Belarus, Minsk) on the topic “International economic corridors - a modern model of spatial territorial development”.
In the course of the session a scientific discussion was held on the most important and significant aspects of scientific research in the field of international economic integration and foreign economic policy within the framework of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, cross-border cooperation between the regions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. The following representatives of the Russian Federation took an active part in the discussion on integration topics:
Alexander SHIROV (Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Director of the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow),
Alexander KNOBEL (Candidate of Economic Sciences, Director of the Institute of International Economics and Finance of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Moscow),
Anton KUZAVKO (Director of the Association “Agency for Integration Initiatives”, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Smolensk State University, Smolensk).
Vyacheslav SELIVERSTOV, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Head of the Centre for Strategic Analysis and Planning of the Institute of Economics and Industrial Production Organisation of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the International Scientific Centre for Transboundary Interactions in North and North-East Asia of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation, made a closing speech devoted to summing up the work of Section 5.
Summing up the results of the meeting, Vyacheslav SELIVERSTOV noted the high level of preparation and holding of the conference; confirmed the high scientific level and relevance of the presented reports; proposals were also made to intensify international scientific cooperation within the framework of the activities of the International Scientific Centre for Transboundary Interactions.
On the basis of the scientific discussions held at Section 5 “Foreign economic policy in the aspect of ensuring national security” scientific and practical recommendations were proposed for inclusion in the final resolution of the international conference “Strategy of Economic Development of Belarus: Challenges, Instruments and Prospects”.
