On November 22, 2024, the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus held the Unified Information Day on the topic: “The Election of the President of the Republic of Belarus: Future Depends on Us”. The event was attended by the administration and employees of the Institute’s structural units.

Vitaly PILUI, Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, made a report. His speech explained the specifics and terms of all stages of the current election campaign, summarised the achievements in the socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus during the years of leadership of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich LUKASHENKO.

Vitaly PILUI noted the remarkable growth of GDP per capita, the growth of industrial production, the self-sufficiency of our republic in all strategically important areas, the considerable progress of the Republic of Belarus in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, Vitaly PILUI quoted Alexander Grigorievich LUKASHENKO: “We will have to jump higher! When we go to people today with an exam (they will take an exam for five years), we have to say what we will do. Specifically. That is the whole policy”.

Vitaly PILUI also emphasised the importance of understanding the issues of countering radicalism, extremism and terrorism, which is especially relevant for the world in complex geopolitical conditions. The participants of the Unified Information Day were shown a video clip of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on countering extremism, emphasising that the Belarusian law enforcement agencies are constantly carrying out serious work in these areas.

Andrei PILIUTIK asked how to join the initiative group of Alexander Grigorievich LUKASHENKO. The participants of the Unified Information Day came to the conclusion that it is necessary to expand the practice of participation of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus in the presidential and parliamentary election campaigns, and also noted the importance of an active civil position in shaping the future of a peaceful and prosperous Republic of Belarus.
