On December 13, 2024, employees of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus took part in the round table “Genocide: Historical and Legal Assessment”
On December 13, 2024, on the basis of NAS of Belarus in the framework of the International Research-to-Practice Conference timed to the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the round table “Genocide: Historical and Legal Assessment” was held. This scientific event brought together leading representatives of the scientific community, as well as employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus.
Vadim LAKIZA, Director of the Institute of History of NAS of Belarus, as well as Igor MOROZ, Director of the Scientific and Practical Centre for Problems of Reinforcing Law and Order of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus, addressed participants of the conference with a welcoming speech.
Head of the Centre of Human Development and Demography of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Anastasia BOBROVA made a report “Demographic losses of the civilian population of the BSSR as a result of its genocide and the damage caused by these losses to the development of the economy of the Republic of Belarus” within the framework of the round table.
Natalia SELYUKINA also took part in the round table with her report “Historical and legal conditions and socio-political consequences of the glorification and rehabilitation of Nazi collaborators. The example of Lithuanian police battalions”.
The round table was attended by Antonina TRIPUZOVA, Head of the Sector of Legal Support for Socio-Economic Development of the Centre of State Building and Law of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus; Oleg DODONOV, Leading Researcher; Veronika POGORELSKAYA, Junior Researcher at the Department of Service Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus; Irina LUGOVSKAYA, Junior Researcher at the Sector of Global Economy of the World Economy Centre of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, and Vladislav KHOMICH, Junior Researcher at the Sector of Legal Support for Economic Security of the Centre of State Building and Law of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus.
