On January 16, 2025 the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus hosted the Unified Information Day, timed to coincide with the most important event in the country - the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The event was opened by the Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus Denis MUKHA, who highlighted the importance of the UID topic, the active civic position and participation of every voter in the presidential election of the Republic of Belarus. He also drew attention to the need to carefully study the election programs of the presidential candidates and to make the right choice that would provide sustainable development of the country, ensuring its economic security.

Vasily GURSKY, Chief Scientific Secretary of NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Economic Sciences, in his welcoming speech emphasized the most important achievements of NAS of Belarus and the country in the economy and other spheres, as well as the need for a conscious choice of the President of the Republic of Belarus to ensure their preservation and multiplication for future generations.

Andrei BELYAKOV, Head of the Center for Public Relations and Electoral Process at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus, member of the Scientific and Expert Council at the Central Election Commission of Belarus, made a thorough, in-depth report on the topic “Participation in Elections – Everyone’s Right and Civil Duty”.

Andrei BELYAKOV, illustrating by vivid examples in comparison with other countries and citing the domestic experience of the election campaign in 2020, highlighted the significance of the novelties of the constitutional and electoral legislation of the Republic of Belarus, active participation of citizens in the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus, and also raised a number of debating questions.

The topic “Our President, Our Choice, Our Future!” was revealed by Antonina TRIPUZOVA, Head of the Sector of the Center of State Building and Law of the Institute of Economics. In her motivational speech she noted the increase in the level of legal culture of the voter, cited the advantages and peculiarities of the Belarusian institute of presidency, the need to demonstrate a balanced civic position and understanding of civil responsibility for one’s choice and the choice of the future of the country.

Antonina TRIPUZOVA vividly demonstrated the preserved attributes and personal experience of participation in the 2020 presidential election campaign, urging not to fall for possible provocations in the 2025 elections.

Denis MUKHA, Anastasia BOBROVA, Olga MOTORINA took part in the thematic discussion and lively debate, including the issues of voter’s age limit and opportunities to vote abroad.

The event was large-scale, attended not only by members of the outreach group, but also by representatives of various structural units of the Institute of Economics, including young scientists.
