On February 22, 2025, Antonina TRIPUZOVA and Anna SAS of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus visited and congratulated Fyodor FESHENKO - participant of the Liberation Operation “Bagration”, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, former employee of the Institute of Economics (1959-1964), Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor - on the Day of Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

Fyodor Sergeevich has an amazing biography, he was born in Ukraine, met the war in Nizhny Tagil, where at the age of 15 he entered the labour force, then volunteered for the front, participated in the liberation of Minsk from the German fascist invaders, reached Berlin, continued his service there and in 1950 was mobilized to Minsk.

He was awarded the Order of Patriotic War of the 2nd class, the medal “For Victory over Germany” and others.

Fyodor FESHCHENKO’s military occupation is commander of a military subversive group.

Fyodor Sergeevich also shared his memoirs about his work at the Institute of Economics and in Cuba, about the defense of his PhD Candidate’s thesis, as well as about the history of writing his monograph “The Dairy Industry of Belarus”, which he presented for the museum of the Institute of Economics.

Fyodor FESHCHENKO’s battle route and life path, his optimism, vitality, determination, amazing memory and esprit, sense of humor cannot but arouse admiration and bring out positive emotions.

The veteran was presented with flowers, sweet gifts and fruit, thematic products, etc.

Fyodor Sergeevich was especially happy to see a series of photos of the round table held on July 4, 2024 at the Institute of Economics on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, recalling the heartwarming atmosphere of the holiday.

Fyodor Sergeevich is in excellent shape. One of the secrets of his longevity and courage is daily morning exercises, breathing exercises and “weightlifting”.

Amazingly, at his 99th birthday Fyodor Sergeevich skillfully and easily juggles dumbbells.

Fyodor Sergeevich also shared his formula of happiness: “Happiness is when it is joyful to live!”.

At the end of the meeting, which took place in one breath, Fyodor FESHCHENKO addressed with parting words:

“The guiding star of our development is love for our people and Motherland, readiness to defend its territory, the chosen path of development, sovereignty!”.
