On April 17, 2025, Scientists of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus took part in the 58th International Scientific and Technical Conference of Teachers and Students of EE “Vitebsk State Technological University”
On April 17, 2025, Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy, took part in the work of the section “Sustainable development of regions based on the principles of circular economy” of the 58th International Scientific and Technical Conference of Teachers and Students of the EI “Vitebsk State Technological University”. The work of the section was organized within the framework of the pilot initiative “Educational program on mastering ESG practices and tools based on online learning technologies”. It is implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Belarus as part of the Joint Project “Supporting the efforts of the Republic of Belarus in nationalization and localization of Sustainable Development Goals”, funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.
During the event opening, a welcome speech was delivered by Rector Andrei KUZNETSOV, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. In turn, Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Elena VANKEVICH told about the pilot initiative, which is being implemented at VSTU. The initiative includes the development of the platform “ESG-education” for representatives of business and public administration, as well as a telegram bot for schoolchildren.
The section was attended by representatives of the state administration bodies (Committee of Economy of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee), the SSI “Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus”, the banking sector (CJSC “Belarusian-Swiss Bank “BSB Bank”, OJSC “Belinvestbank”), the Department of Economics and Electronic Business of EE “VSTU”, Smolensk State University and others.
Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, made a report on the topic: “Assessment of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 9 “Creating resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and innovation” in the Republic of Belarus”. In the course of the report the methodology was presented, which takes into account the indicators revealing the dynamics of industrial production, organizations’ financial stance, openness to foreign investors, export orientation, digital development, etc. The methodology was tested on the example of the Republic of Belarus, which allowed to determine the positive dynamics of sustainable industrial development.
Following the results of the section, the participants jointly discussed potential forms and prospects of scientific and research cooperation.
