On April 24, 2025, employees of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus took part in the International Seminar “Legal Protection and Enforcement of Exporters’ Rights to Intellectual Property”. The seminar was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the National Center of Intellectual Property with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The event was attended by the staff of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus:

Ekaterina GLADKAYA, Head of the Center of State Building and Law;

Maria KURILOVICH, Head of the Sector of Environmental and Legal Research of the Center of State Building and Law;

Natalia LOPATOVA, Head of the Sector of Digital Transformation of the Economy of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy;

Darya AVAEVA, Researcher at the Sector of Digital Transformation of the Economy of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy;

Olga KOCHERGA, Researcher at the Sector of Investment Policy of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy;

Daria BONDAR, Junior Researcher at the Sector of Legal Support for Economic Security of the Center of State Building and Law;

Uliana SIYANOVICH, Junior Researcher at the Sector of Environmental and Legal Research of the Center of State Building and Law.

Sergey SHLYCHKOV, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, Tang DAREN, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Yuri ZUBOV, Head of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Alexey KURMAN, First Deputy Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, addressed the participants of the seminar.

The following speakers took part in the seminar: Elena USACHYOVA, Head of the Industrial Property Examination Department of the National Center of Intellectual Property with the report “Legal protection of inventions and industrial designs as a basis for effective export activities of an enterprise”, Elena MAKHANKOVA, Deputy Head of the Quality Monitoring Center of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization with the report “Practice of dispute examination in respect of Eurasian patents”, Marina PATELINA, Head of the Trademark Department of the National Center of Intellectual Property with the report “Legal Protection of Trademarks Abroad” and others.

The participants of the event considered topical problems of legal protection of intellectual property in the context of ensuring effective export activities, peculiarities of rights disposal and mechanisms of protection of rights to intellectual property abroad.

Within the framework of the event, the National Center of Intellectual Property and Brest Science and Technology Park signed an Agreement on the establishment of the Center of Support for Technologies and Innovations.

All the participants of the seminar were awarded state training certificates.
