On June 11, 2025, the plenary session of the International Association of Exchanges on the topic “TRENDS AND PROSPECTS OF EXCHANGE TRADING” was attended by the Director of the Institute of Regional Economic Studies of RAS Alexey SHMATKO together with employees of the Institute of Economics - Deputy Director Vitaly PILUI, Head of the Department of Service Economy Natalya MOROZOVA, Head of the Sector of Production and Distribution Services Evgeny FEDOROV and Head of the Sector of Social and Consumer Services Elena MILASHEVICH.

The session “The Role of Exchange Trading in Modern Realities” featured the following speakers: Yuri SHULEIKO, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Maksim YERMOLOVICH, Member of the Board on Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the EEC, Artur KARPOVICH, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel LEMEKH, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Belarus and others.

During the discussion, the role of exchange trading in saturating the market with goods and stabilizing the currency and stock market was noted, issues related to strategically important resources and exchange trading mechanisms were considered, the need to develop a Concept of a common exchange market for the EAEU and a program for the development of exchange trading was outlined.

Employees of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus together with the Director of the Institute of Regional Economic Studies of RAS Alexey SHMATKO noted the need to conduct scientific research in terms of identifying possible risks in the formation of a single exchange market for goods and services of the EAEU countries, developing price indicators, and identifying exchange trends in the digital ecosystem.
