On June 12, 2025, a round table was held on issues of deepening promising areas of scientific cooperation between the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus and the Institute of Regional Economic Studies of RAS.

As part of the round table, the Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Denis MUKHA and the Director of the Institute of Regional Economic Studies of RAS, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Alexey SHMATKO made reports on scientific activities, the main areas of scientific research and the development of scientific cooperation between the Institutes.

Denis MUKHA introduced the organizational structure of NAS of Belarus, the areas of scientific research of the structural divisions of the Institute, implemented projects and achieved research results.

Alexey SHMATKO emphasized the features of conducting research at the Institute of Regional Economic Studies in the Russian Federation, the role of Institute’s research in achieving the goals of national development and the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, current areas of cooperation between IRES RAS and Belarusian partners, based on the priorities of scientific and technological development of our countries.

The information presented by the Heads of the Institutes aroused mutual interest and active discussion, during which key vectors of interaction in the context of joint scientific activities were identified, fundamental agreements were reached on participation in projects, publication of monographs and scientific articles and organization of international research-to-practice conferences.
