On July 18, 2025, the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus held a Unified Information Day on the topic “Sovereign Belarus: from restoring the national economy to innovative projects of the future” and a thematic Round Table dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Denis MUKHA substantiated the importance of the topic, highlighted the need to preserve and enhance the achievements of modern Belarus, and focused the attention of the employees on the significance of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

Deputy Director for Research of the Institute of History of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Pavel TRUBCHIK delivered a report on the topic “The Significance of the Belarusian People’s Choice of the Date of July 3 as a National Holiday – Independence Day”. He revealed the main historical milestones in choosing the date for celebrating Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, associated with the liberation of Minsk from the Nazi invaders, focusing on the free expression of citizens’ will in choosing this date. The attention of the employees was also drawn to the need to defend the truth about the contribution of the Belarusian people to the Victory in 1945, to preserve the memory of the fallen Belarusians and Veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

The report by the Head of the Innovation and Investment Policy Center of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Elena PRESNYAKOVA on the topic “Sovereign Belarus: from restoring the national economy to innovative projects of the future” was focused on the post-war recovery period of Belarus after its liberation during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the state’s modern achievements in space, nuclear energy, digital economy and the development of artificial intelligence, innovative development, agro-industrial complex, mechanical engineering and medicine. Particular emphasis was placed on interaction with friendly countries and foreign economic potential.

The topic of the Unified Information Day and the Round Table aroused interest among the employees. The lively discussion was actively supported by the Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Denis MUKHA, Deputy Director for General Issues of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences Andrei PILIUTIK, Head of the Sector of Production and Distribution Services of the Department of Service Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Evgeny FEDOROV.

At the end of the event, the Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus Denis MUKHA gave the floor to the Chairperson of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus Albina SIBIRSKAYA to announce the results of the Competition of creative works of employees’ children, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus. She thanked the parents and children who participated in this Competition, and on behalf of the Trade Union Organization presented diplomas and gift certificates.
