On September 18, 2025, the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus held a Unified Information Day on the topic “Day of National Unity: The Importance of Peace and Harmony”.

Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, addressed the staff and explained the importance of the Day of National Unity as one of the key holidays in the Republic of Belarus. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for civic unity to maintain peace in Belarus.

The truly festive atmosphere was enhanced by the awarding of the Institute’s Certificate of Honor to Darya ROGATKO, Senior Researcher at the Sector of Scientific, Technological, and Innovative Development, on the occasion of her anniversary and many years of fruitful work at the Institute.

Vitaly PILUI, Deputy Director for Research and Innovation at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, delivered a report entitled “The Significance of National Unity Day for the Future of Belarus”. He revealed the historical milestones preceding the unification of Western and Eastern Belarus, dwelled upon the socioeconomic situation of Western Belarus prior to its incorporation into the Belarussian SSR, provided a comparative analysis of Western Belarus during the Polish occupation and the Belarussian SSR, and explored the Red Army’s actions during the liberation of Western Belarus in 1939. The video accompanying Vitaly PILUI’s report was of particular interest to the staff.

In conclusion, Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, once again reminded the staff of the need to be united and conscientious in their common cause for the sake of preserving peace and developing the Republic of Belarus.
