On November 14, 2025, Section 5 “Foreign Economic Policy in the Context of Ensuring National Security” of the International Research-to-Practice Conference “Strategy for the Development of the Belarusian Economy: Challenges, Tools, and Prospects” was held.
The Center of World Economy at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus organized this session.
28 scientists and representatives of research and higher education institutions from various countries participated in the session, including representatives from the Russian Federation (Moscow and Perm) and the Republic of Belarus (Minsk).
Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, delivered welcoming remarks to the section participants, as did Tatyana VERTINSKAYA, Head of the Center of World Economy at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, who moderated the section.

Alexander SEREDA, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Researcher in the Economics Department at the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, presented a report titled “Parallel Imports in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus: Risks, Benefits, and Potential for National Economies”.
Artem PYLIN, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Leading Researcher, Head of the Sector of Bilateral Relations between Russia and Neighboring Countries at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, presented a report titled “Trends in Trade Interaction between Russia and Belarus in the New Geo-Economic Reality”.
Anton KUZAVKO, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Chief Researcher at Smolensk State University, presented a report titled “Comparison of the Integration Effect in the Belarusian-Russian and Kazakh-Russian Borderlands”.

Ekaterina TAVGEN, Researcher at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, presented a report titled "Review of Political and Economic Risks in Conducting Foreign Trade with Asian Countries”.
Oh Dok Hee, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, presented a report titled “Current Areas of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and East Asian Countries (Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, and the DPRK)”.
Albina SIBIRSKAYA, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, presented a report titled “Recommendations for Improving the Unified Quality Control System in the EAEU”.
The session featured a discussion on the most important and significant aspects of international economic integration, cross-border cooperation between the regions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus’s participation in the formation of new centers of economic power, and the activities of international organizations.
Based on the discussion held at Section 5, “Foreign Economic Policy in the Context of Ensuring National Security”, scientific and practical recommendations were proposed for the final resolution of the international conference, “Strategy for the Development of the Belarusian Economy: Challenges, Tools, and Prospects”.
