On May 7, 2026, the Institute hosted a roundtable titled “Formation of a Favorable Business Environment in the Republic of Belarus in the New Global Context”. It was organized by the Department for Monitoring of Socioeconomic Development at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus. The roundtable served as a discussion platform for representatives of the business sector, banks, business unions, the scientific community, educational institutions, and other institutions on issues related to creating a favorable business environment, adapting to new global challenges, improving regulatory policy, and developing entrepreneurial initiative.

The roundtable was moderated by Anna POPKOVA, Head of the Department for Monitoring Socioeconomic Development, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, opened the roundtable with a welcoming address and highlighted the relevance of the topics discussed.

Anna POPKOVA presented the main challenges and threats of the current global context and their impact on Belarusian business, and delivered a report on “Stimulating Innovation in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: The Chinese Experience”.

Tatyana LAPUTSKAYA, Head of the Sector for Strategy and Monitoring of Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship Development at the Department for Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, spoke about the country’s current State Program “Sustainable Entrepreneurship” for 2026-2030.

Tatyana PASHKEVICH, Director of the Corporate Business Department at Belarusbank, and Galina GOLUBOVICH, Chief Specialist of the Corporate Business Department at Belarusbank, delivered information on the bank’s new credit products and financial support mechanisms for the real sector of the economy in 2026.

Alexander SHVETS, Chairman of the Republican Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, outlined the key areas for creating a favorable business environment and emphasized the need for active collaboration between academic and business experts in the search for new effective measures and mechanisms to support entrepreneurship.

Zhanna TARASEVICH, Director of the Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers named after M.S. Kunyavsky, highlighted the key issues affecting Belarusian businesses today.

Alexander KOTOV, Deputy Director for Development at Mashpischeprod OJSC, and Andrei ROSHCHUPKIN, First Deputy General Director of the Coca-Cola Beverages Belarus Unitary Enterprise, presented on new business opportunities in the new global context.

The roundtable included a panel discussion on reducing the administrative burden on businesses (Olga MOTORINA), institutional conditions for creating a favorable business environment (Alexander LUCHENOK, Andrei FILIPTSOV, Valentina SHUNDALOVA), and other aspects of shaping the business environment.
