On May 21, 2026, a meeting with a delegation from the Institute of East European, Russian and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was held at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus.
At the meeting, the IEERCAS CASS was represented by XU Polin, Head of the Russian Economy Research Department and Chief Researcher; ZHANG Yanlu, Deputy Head of the Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Baltic Countries Research Department and Leading Researcher; ZHANG Hong, Chief Researcher of the Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Baltic Countries Research Department; ZHOU Caiquan, Senior Researcher of the Russian Economy Research Department.
The Chinese colleagues shared information on government incentives for Chinese enterprises working in priority areas and also offered suggestions on ways to increase Belarusian exports to the Chinese market.
The Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus was represented at the meeting by Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus; Tatyana VERTINSKAYA, Head of the Center for World Economy; Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Head of the Center for Innovation and Investment Policy; Natalia KASHINSKAYA, Deputy Head of the Belarusian-Chinese Analytical Center for Development; Oleg DODONOV, Leading Researcher at the Belarusian-Chinese Analytical Center for Development; and Nadezhda SMOLSKAYA, Intern Junior Researcher at the Belarusian-Chinese Analytical Center for Development.
Representatives of the IEERCAS CASS were briefed on the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus’s current research areas in the field of digital transformation of the economy, as well as the prospects for Belarusian-Chinese economic cooperation within the framework of Belarus’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The parties emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral scientific ties and discussed prospects for further collaboration. Immediate plans include organizing a joint scientific event at one of the institutes.
