On May 22, 2026, the awards ceremony for the winners and diploma recipients of the annual “Peak of Law” competition, organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, was held at the Frunze Complex.

Opening the awards ceremony, Minister of Justice Yevgeny KOVALENKO noted that the “Peak of Law” competition is a platform where talented researchers, practicing lawyers, students, and simply concerned citizens can share their work, address current issues, and propose solutions to existing problems.

The Head of the Center for State Building and Law, Candidate of Law Sciences, Associate Professor Ekaterina GLADKAYA, as part of a team of authors of scientific articles’ collection “The Legal Status of Subjects of Economic Relations and Their Associations” (under the general editorship of the Deputy Head of the Legal Research Institute – Head of the Department of Research in the Field of Civil, Environmental and Social Law of the of Legal Research Institute of the NCLLI, Candidate of Law Sciences, Associate Professor Olga BAKINOVSKAYA) received a prize in the nomination “Economy and Law”.

A collection of scientific articles was published by the National Center of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus in 2025.

The collection of scientific articles includes a section by Ekaterina GLADKAYA entitled “Economic Activities of Non-Profit Organizations: Theoretical and Practical Problems of Lawmaking and Law Enforcement”, which explores specific theoretical and practical issues related to the economic activities of non-profit organizations. The author critically evaluates the granting of entrepreneurial rights to non-profit organizations. It is noted that this approach creates a discrepancy between the legal scope of influence over the economic activities of non-profit organizations and the actual legal framework for their implementation, blurs the distinctions between commercial and non-profit organizations in civil transactions, and obscures the essential characteristics of the latter. Based on the results of the study, a number of theoretical and practical proposals are made aimed at establishing a balance between achieving the goal of creating non-profit organizations and realizing their right to engage in income-generating activities.

We congratulate Ekaterina Nikolaevna on the recognition of her research results at such a high level and wish her continued creative success and achievements.

For reference: In 2026, 167 individual authors and groups of authors competed for the main prize in various categories. By decision of the competition committee, awards were presented to 24 nominees (8 prize winners and 16 diploma recipients).
