On June 14, 2026, staff members of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus visited the town of Turov and the village of Lyaskovichi on a sightseeing tour

On June 14, 2026, staff members of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus visited the town of Turov and the village of Lyaskovichi on a sightseeing tour.

Turov, one of the oldest towns in Belarus, was first mentioned in 980 in the Primary Chronicle. The staff visited the Ancient Turov – historical and archaeological complex, touched the legendary “living” crosses of the Borisoglebskoye Cemetery, which are considered miraculous, and saw the monument to the 1000th anniversary of the Turov Orthodox Diocese, Castle Hill, and the Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Lawrence.

During a tour of the Turov Dairy Plant, employees visited the production facilities for famous European cheeses – mozzarella, scamorza, mascarpone, and ricotta – and witnessed the maturation of the most exquisite cheeses and sampled them.

Lyaskovichi is a picturesque agro-town in the Gomel region, a major tourist destination and gateway to the Pripyat National Park. Employees also enjoyed a tour of the nature museum. The tour concluded with a boat ride on the Pripyat River.

The educational tour was organized by the trade union committee jointly with the Institute administration as part of the Institute’s ideological work plan.
