Visit of the delegation of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On June 26, 2026, a delegation of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus. The delegation included: Milana BAZAROVA, Head of the CIS and Russia Department; Alexey KUSTOV, Chief Researcher at the ISRS; Alisher BABAEV, Senior Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus.

On behalf of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, the delegation was received by: Andrey PILIUTIK, Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences; Tatyana VERTINSKAYA, Head of the Center for World Economy, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Head of the Center for Innovation and Investment Policy, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Nina ABRAMCHUK, Head of the Foreign Trade Sector of the Center for World Economy; Oleg KOLEDA, Senior Researcher, Sector of International Competitiveness and Regional Development, Center for World Economy.

Andrei PILIUTIK, Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, delivered the welcoming remarks.

The distinguished guests enjoyed a presentation about the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus. Oleg KOLEDA, Senior Researcher in the Sector of International Competitiveness and Regional Development at the Center for World Economy, highlighted the Institute’s rich scientific traditions, powerful research potential, key areas of research, and extensive international cooperation. The guests were introduced to the scientific editions published by the Institute in recent years.

During the discussion of joint research areas of interest to Belarus and Uzbekistan, Tatyana VERTINSKAYA, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Center for World Economy at the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, spoke about possible areas of scientific cooperation in developing promising joint research projects, including through grant support. Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Center for Innovation and Investment Policy, discussed her experience participating in joint research projects with organizations from the Republic of Uzbekistan and promising framework of cooperation.

A delegation from the ISRS confirmed its readiness to develop a partnership with the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus. Key forms of cooperation include academic exchange, increased joint publishing activities, including mutual publications in scientific journals, and participation in conferences.
