On July 23, 2026, the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus held a Unified Information Day on the topic of “Ensuring Life Safety: From Cyberattacks to Road Safety” in collaboration with the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Belarus.

The event was opened by Denis MUKHA, Director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. He described the topic of the Unified Information Day from the perspective of the need to organize systematic work to foster a culture of life safety among employees.

Nikolai SUKHOTSKY, Deputy Director for Research and Innovation at the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Sociologic Sciences, Associate Professor, outlined the importance of the main areas of ensuring life safety.

The report by Konstantin SNISARENKO, a researcher at the Center for Political Science at the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Belarus, focuses on aspects of digital security, specifically: existing mechanisms for combating cybercrime in its various forms; methods for countering cyber fraud; and tools for preventing the involvement of children and adolescents in illegal activities.

Interest was also raised by the presentation by Captain Denis KOVALEVSKY, Senior Inspector of the Supervision and Prevention Sector of the Pervomaisky District Emergency Situations Department of the Minsk City Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He covered the fundamentals of fire prevention in the workplace and at home, as well as the basic rules of conduct during an emergency. He placed particular emphasis on preventing fires involving children and adolescents.

Using specific examples, the speaker presented the attendees with distressing facts about fire deaths. The material presented by the speaker, confirming the tragic consequences of careless fire handling and disregard for fire safety regulations, proved instructive.

The presentations generated interest and discussion.
