On June 26, the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus hosted a round table dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the Institute
In
accordance with the program of measures to conduct Economics Week, on June 26,
a round table dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the Institute was held. Its
history, which has been going on for almost a century, is rich in significant
economic events, outstanding fundamental developments, as well as a vibrant
social life.
One of the
main factors has been and remains human capital, the staff of the Institute and
their contribution to the economic development of the country.
Director of
the Institute Denis MUKHA delivered a welcoming speech. He focused his
attention on the importance of studying the history of the Institute, thanked
for the responsiveness and desire to share the memories of invited guests and
workers who have been and are engaged in scientific activity within the walls
of the Institute for a long time.
Julia
VITYAZ, junior researcher at the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy,
prepared a presentation and spoke about the life of the Institute from the 30s
of the last century to the present day. Many events surprised the attenders and
became the subject of admiration for the scientists of the past.
Then there
was a thematic quiz. Researcher at the Center of Innovation and Investment
Policy Nikita VOITOVICH prepared a series of questions about the main significant
scientific achievements and personalities in the history of the Institute.
Alexander CEDRIK, a researcher at the Department of Socio-Economic Development
Monitoring, became the winner.
The final
stage of the event was a warm conversation between the Institute’s staff and
invited guests. Through the prism of time, they analyzed the development of the
Institute in various periods of its formation, noted scientific leaders who had
trained a large number of highly qualified scientific personnel, etc.
