For reference: On March 22, 1943, the Nazis burned the village of Khatyn and 149 of its inhabitants, 75 of them were children.
In January 1966, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus decided to create the Khatyn memorial complex in the Logoisk region, in memory of the residents of Khatyn and the residents of hundreds of burned Belarusian villages and civilians killed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War
In 2022-2023, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out at the Khatyn memorial complex for the 80th anniversary of the tragedy, during which new symbolic objects appeared.
The New Memory Museum of the Belarusian People Victims is a unique emotional space, the main task of which is to recreate the emotional perception of the occupied Belarus tragedy horror.
Six halls gradually introduce the history of major military conflicts and the tragedy of the civilian population.
The central element of the exhibition is the “bloody stream”, symbolizing all victims of aggression in Belarus. On the burnt wall, reminiscent of the fateful day of March 22, 1943, there is a map of Belarus, where 216 burned villages that shared the fate of Khatyn smolder like red coals.

Three birch trees, like living people, and the Eternal Flame - instead of the fourth, symbolize the memory of every fourth resident of Belarus who died during the war.
