On June 9, 2022, a round table on the topic «Modern problems and approaches to ensuring the scientific and technological security of the state» was held at the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus. It was organized by the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy.

The event was attended by representatives of the Center for System Analysis and Strategic Research of NAS of Belarus; Belarusian State University; Belarusian State Economic University; Belarusian National Technical University; Institute of Business of the Belarusian State University; Vitebsk State Technological University.

The Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Vasili HURSKY, made a welcoming speech to the participants of the round table.

The meeting was moderated by the Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Denis MUKHA.

The reports on the round table were made by:

Vladimir PUZIKOV, professor at the Department of Finance and Management of the Institute of Business of BSU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor with a report «Interpretation of the concept of «scientific technological security» in the context of innovative economic development».

Denis MUKHA, Head of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor with a report «Topical issues of ensuring the scientific technological security of the Republic of Belarus».

Galina KARLOVSKAYA, senior researcher at the Section of Scientific, Technological and Innovative Development of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus with a report «Scientific intensity of GDP as a key indicator of scientific and technological security of the Republic of Belarus».

Elena PETRUSHKEVICH, Associate Professor of the Department of the World Economy of BSEU, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor with the report «Global imbalances and factors of their transformation at the present stage».

Lyudmila NEKHOROSHEVA, Head of the Department of Industrial Enterprises’ Economy of BSEU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor with a report «New directions for activating the use of intellectual property as the most important tool to ensure the scientific and technological security of the state».

Elena PRESNYAKOVA, Head of the Industrial Policy Sector of the Center of Innovation and Investment Policy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor with the report «Sanctions as a tool for protectionist industrial policy».

At the end of the event the results were summed up and a set of key measures and areas for ensuring the scientific and technological security of the Republic of Belarus was elaborated.
