On April 19, 2023, employees of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus took part in the planting of pines in the Pukhovichi Administrative Forestry Enterprise as part of the «Forest Week – 2023» campaign, dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation.

The action was aimed at preserving and increasing the forest wealth of the Republic of Belarus, attracting public attention to solving national problems in the field of strengthening the environmental, economic and social role of forests.

The volunteers had the opportunity to contribute to the common cause of peaceful creation and increasing the forest wealth of Belarus.

By the joint efforts of the team of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus, about 0.9 hectares of pine forest were planted.

For active participation in the «Forest Week – 2023» campaign, dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, the staff of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus was presented with a gratitude on behalf of the Director of the Pushovichi Administrative Forestry Enterprise.

This event was attended by the employees: Antonina TRIPUZOVA (coordinator of the event), Ekaterina GLADKAYA, Natalya MOROZOVA, spouses Alexander and Alla CEDRIK, Anna SAS with her 13-year-old son Vladimir, Vadim NEDVETSKY, Galina KRYUKOVA, Maria KURILOVICH, Andrey PILYUTIK, Olgerd YAKUBOVSKY, Irina GUTOROVA, Ekaterina KOLEDA.

Pukhovichi forestry provided all volunteers with planting material and tools.

Planting pine forest is difficult work. But how it unites and strengthens the corporate spirit of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus!

Having worked with enthusiasm, the team treated itself to the «forest gifts» and a delicious hot fish soup prepared by forestry.

This action made it possible to better know how our forests are created and preserved, to make a feasible contribution to the increase in the forest wealth of the republic, as well as in the Year of Peace and Creation to perpetuate the memory of our heroes-liberators.

On the territory of the Pushovichsky district, people’s avengers, a partisan detachment named after Suvorov of the 2nd Minsk Partisan Brigade (operated on the territory of the Pushovichi, Ruden, Minsk and Starorozhsky districts). In the detachment, a youth fighter group was created, the commander of which was the 15-year-old Rostislav AGEICHIK.

Young partisans acted on railways, highways, forest roads, destroying enemy armor. For a long time, the group was elusive for the enemy. But on June 7, 1943, returning from the assignment, the guys were ambushed near the village of Kovalevichi. Forcing his comrades to retreat, Rostislav, covering them, took an unequal battle. He was already seriously wounded when cartridges and grenades ended. The Germans killed a young partisan, applying eleven chore dagger wounds.

The Belarusian writer Mikhail TKACHEV wrote about the feat of the Hero the documentary story «He did not return from the assignment».

In addition, on August 21, 1941, the Pukhovichi underground district committee of the CP(b)B was organized consisting of five people (secretary of V.Ya. Shklyarik). The newspaper «Partisan of Belarus» was published in secret. With the participation of the underground committee member Lyuba GAIDUCHONOK (1921-1943) ‑ secretary of the Minsk underground district committee of the LCUYB ‑ the Pukhovichi underground district committee of the LCUYB was created in the city. With her participation, mobile combat groups were formed. She coordinated the whole struggle of the CUY members of the city with the center. She died in an unequal battle on May 23, 1943, establishing their connection with the partisans of the detachment «Flame».

LIVING MEMORY FROM A GRATEFUL GENERATION!

The future giant pine is grown from seeds of pine cones, each such pine seedling is only 5-8 cm, planted in a hole at a distance of 60 cm from each other.

For reference:

At the age of 5 to 10 years, small pines grow annually from 30 to 60 centimeters. Then the increase can reach one meter annually under favorable conditions. By the age of 70, the tree reaches up to 25 meters in height. Further, from 30 to 50 years, the pine is not so much growing in height as the thickness of its trunk increases.

Coniferous trees are long-livers. On average, they live from 150 to 300 years, although the age of pine in natural conditions rarely reaches more than 80 years due to cutting down forests and many pests and diseases that damage the pine throughout development.
